The Racin Grafix Truck Series at OSRL has been a huge success with a lot of great drivers showing up week after week for a chance at victory. This weeks race at Talledaga was no different with 25 drivers showing up to qualify. But eventual race winner John VanVourellis didn't get the opportunity to qualify this week, as he's been leading the points since the first race of the season with his win at Vegas, and the top 3 in points don't qualify each week. Instead, John drove the 87 Flair Dodge from the back of the pack through several long green flag runs to find that extra little bit of fuel to get him and his team mate Jeff Cody to the finish line first, while the rest of the field had to stop for gas on the final lap! Guess it pays to go green and save fuel! OSRL Officials have confiscated the truck and taken it back to the OSRL tech center in Concord, NC for further inspection. |

The Bomber Division is the perfect place for drivers to get that first win at OSRL, and that's just what Don Colbath in the 555 was hoping to do this past Monday night at Bristol. With a total disregard for points, Don was simply looking to find victory lane, and the best chance at that was starting out front. However, Shayne Carr in the 24 had something to say about that, and layed down the fastest lap in qualifying at 16.617 seconds to score his first pole of the season. Don, starting 2nd, wasn't the only 'Bomber Whacker' running on this night, as the 83 of Kent Hinshaw started 3rd, with rookie Derek Messimore in the 49 starting 4th and the 28 of Steven Littrell rounding out the top 5 starting spots. |

The Outlaw Late Model Series at OSRL is now in it's second season, and with a whole new crop of really fast drivers. Week in and week out, it can be anyone's race to win. As the series headed to the Milwaukee Mile this week, patience would be the key to laying down a fast time in qualifying. With the top 3 in points sitting out qualifying, the 17 of Doug Gunning took advantage by posting the fastest time to secure his first pole of the 2008-D season. The 51 of Brian Roberts, 11 of Frank Albert, 0 of David Hart and 48 of Joe Wilson rounded out the top 5 starting spots. |
