Why We're Here - The Old School Racing League was created for guys to get together, race online and Have Some Fun. |
| 2. |
We ID - You Must be at least 25 years of age, own the NR2003 Sim from Papyrus and have a steering wheel to race. |
| 3. |
a. Driver Names - You must use your real name both in the forum and in the game.
b. Car Numbers - You should look at the Car Number List before picking a number. Each driver will run the same number in all series at OSRL.
c. Car Files - If you are signed up for any Series, you should have a carfile uploaded to the Downloads section. |
| 4. |
Take a Week or Two Off - Only 8 races out of a 10 race schedule count toward your points. |
| 5. |
Keep Your Cool - Not all days are going to be good ones... so keep your attitude in check. |
| 6. |
Do Unto Others - Intentionally wrecking another driver before, during or after a race will not be tolerated at any time. |
| 7. |
Don't Be a Hazard to Fellow Drivers - You should have at least driven on the track we are about to race on, if not then you should show up early for practice. |
| 8. |
Know Where You Are On The Track - Do not rely solely on your spotter!!! Use the F2 key to see where other drivers are in relation to you on the track. Respect should be given to all drivers that enter a race. |
| 9. |
Maintain a Good Connection - OSRL Members are asked to make sure they maintain a good DSL or Cable connection to the server when racing online. |
| 10. |
Check Your Quality - You can see a live quality meter while driving on the track by holding down the CTRL key and hitting the C key. |
| 11. |
Old School Rules - We run the NR2003 sim rules just as they came from Papyrus, no questions asked. |
| 12. |
a. Caution Flags - we will stagger under caution. First car behind the pace car to the top, next one to the bottom etc...
b. Starts and Restarts - Lapped cars are asked to drive through the pits with 10 or less laps to go, so they may line up at the rear of the field and let the lead lap cars race for the win. |
| 13. |
Jumping the Gun - There will be no passing on restarts until the exit of turn 2 unless the car in front of you has a problem with their car which causes them to be slow on a restart and they stay high to let you go by. Lapped cars will maintain their position on the low line and blend in with the lead lap cars as they can. With 10 laps to go you may attempt to safely pass going into turn 1 on a restart. |
| 14. |
Lapped Cars - Cars 1 or more laps down are encouraged to race for position to gain their lap back on restarts if they do so in a safe manner. You will be penalized for wrecking somone, so be sure to race them cleanly. |
| 15. |
2 Incident Rule - If you spin out on your own and it brings out the caution, you will be charged with an incident. Solo spins that do not bring out a caution are considered a freebie and do not count against you. If you get into someone and cause them to spin out, you will be charge with an incident. Either form of incident requires you to go to the back of the line on the next restart by speeding in the pits to get an End of Longest Line (EOLL) penalty. We expect drivers to claim their own cautions, and type the word 'Mine' in the chat window, or say your car number and 'mine' on teamspeak if an incident occurs.
2 Incidents in one night and you need to park it. Solo spins that bring out a caution count as an incident.

| 16. |
Intentional Wrecking - In the event a driver intentionally runs into another driver in malice, he will be suspended immediately for the remainder of the season. We classify an intentional wreck as you running into someone under green or caution without using your brakes to attempt to avoid them, or in retaliation after a recent caution with the same car. This is a judgement call, but if you blatantly run someone over, and it's pretty obvious to more than 1 admin, you will be suspended no questions asked. |
